Honda introduced this air-cooled inline-four roadster in 2010 as a modern interpretation of the company’s classic CB tradition, aiming for a refined, approachable large-displacement motorcycle with straightforward styling and a distinctly traditional character. The nameplate was developed in Japan and launched there as a fresh addition to Honda’s big-bike lineup, combining retro-influenced proportions with contemporary engineering to meet newer emissions requirements. Over time, the model evolved into a small family of variants: the more tradition-oriented EX joined the range in 2014, while the RS arrived in 2017 with a sportier chassis and posture. Those updates kept the nameplate relevant for much of the next decade while preserving its core identity as an air-cooled CB. In 2021, Honda announced Final Edition versions of the EX and RS, marking the end of the model’s 11-year production run as tightening emissions regulations made continuation impractical. The result was a well-regarded modern classic that bridged Honda’s past and present in the large-roadster segment.
