MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the ST1300P

Honda’s police-spec ST1300 nameplate was the law-enforcement version of the ST1300 sport-touring platform, adapted with equipment provisions for patrol use such as lighting, radio, and siren hardware. In Honda’s U.S. documentation, the model first appears for the 2005 model year, when the police version was included alongside the civilian ST1300 family. The designation later evolved in Honda materials to ST1300PA, reflecting the ABS-equipped police variant, and the bike remained part of the U.S. police lineup through the 2013 model year. It represented Honda’s approach to a purpose-built highway patrol motorcycle: large enough for long shifts and equipment duty, but still based on the company’s proven ST touring architecture. After the 2013 model year, the nameplate disappeared from Honda’s police-motorcycle offerings, with no later revival of this exact designation.
