Introduced for the 2005 model year, this Harley-Davidson cruiser was created as a nostalgic, chrome-heavy take on the Softail formula, pairing a hardtail-inspired silhouette with hidden rear suspension. It arrived under the FLSTN designation and quickly became one of the brand’s most distinctive retro-styled cruisers, with classic touches such as valanced fenders, a low-slung stance, and vintage-inspired trim that set it apart from the rest of the Softail family. Over time, the model evolved along with Harley-Davidson’s Softail platform and engine lineup, but its core identity remained the same: a boulevard cruiser aimed at riders who wanted old-school looks with modern riding manners. For the 2018 model year, Harley-Davidson updated the bike as part of its redesigned Softail range, carrying the Deluxe name forward under the newer FLDE code. The nameplate was still present in Harley-Davidson’s 2020 literature, after which it disappeared from the company’s new-motorcycle lineup, making 2020 the final verified model year for this version of the Deluxe.
