MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the Breakout

Introduced for the 2013 model year, this nameplate was created to capture the look of a long, low custom cruiser in factory form. The early version arrived on the Softail platform and immediately stood out for its stretched stance, wide rear tire, bobtail rear fender, and drag-inspired silhouette. It was positioned as a modern interpretation of the stripped-down chopper style that had long been popular with custom builders and enthusiasts.

For several years, the original run used the Softail architecture associated with Harley-Davidson’s big-twin cruiser family. In 2018, the model was thoroughly reworked as part of the redesigned Softail lineup, moving to a newer chassis and adopting a fresh model code while keeping the same nameplate and basic long-and-low identity. That update helped move the bike from a pure styling statement into a more refined factory custom with better overall ride and handling.

Over time, the model has remained one of the brand’s most visually distinctive cruisers, known for its raked front end, exposed rear tire, and muscular stance. It has served as a showroom-ready answer for riders who wanted a custom look without building one from the ground up. The nameplate has also benefited from periodic engine and equipment updates, but its core appeal has stayed consistent: a bold, dragster-flavored cruiser with strong enthusiast appeal and clear roots in American custom-motorcycle culture.
