Suzuki’s large V-twin cruiser carrying the Intruder LC name first appeared for the 1997 model year as a “big American cruiser” built around the brand’s low-and-long styling theme. The original bike was positioned as a majestic, comfort-oriented heavyweight cruiser, using an oil-cooled 1,462 cm³ V-twin, shaft drive, and extensive chrome and steel bodywork to emphasize a classic, substantial look rather than sport performance. In Suzuki’s own digital archive, this first Intruder LC is identified as a 1997 model.
The nameplate later returned in a revised form for 2013, when Suzuki introduced the Suzuki Boulevard C90T / Intruder C1500T. That update carried the 1500-class Intruder identity forward with a more modern touring focus, including fuel injection, liquid cooling, and factory touring equipment such as integrated luggage. Because the nameplate was revived after a production gap, it should be treated as having multiple production periods rather than one continuous run.
