This nameplate first appeared for the 2007 model year as a seven-passenger midsize crossover aimed at North American buyers. The original version marked a clear shift away from Suzuki’s earlier truck-based 7-seat SUV concept, moving to a more carlike crossover layout while keeping the brand’s practical, family-oriented positioning. Production for that first run was short-lived and ended after the late-2000s market contraction.
The name returned in 2020 on an all-new three-row SUV developed for Southeast Asian markets, where it was positioned as a roomy family vehicle with SUV styling and everyday usability. That revival established a separate second production era rather than a continuation of the earlier North American model. The revived version has remained in production and has received updates since launch, including later appearance and equipment revisions.
