Brutus was Polaris’ commercial side-by-side utility-vehicle nameplate, launched for the 2013 model year as a purpose-built work machine aimed at grounds care, maintenance, and municipal-style duties rather than recreational trail use. The line arrived with a strong emphasis on versatility: Polaris marketed it as a vehicle that could handle a wide range of job-site tasks through dedicated front attachments such as blades, brooms, snow blowers, mowers, pallet forks, and material buckets. Early literature shows the core Brutus line split into variants such as HD and HD PTO, reflecting different attachment and work-use configurations.
From the beginning, Brutus was positioned as a fully enclosed, job-focused utility platform with commercial-grade comfort and all-season usability. It was meant to serve as a compact alternative to multiple separate pieces of equipment, giving operators a single machine for hauling, sweeping, mowing, plowing, and snow removal duties. That identity made it distinct within Polaris’ broader off-road lineup, which was otherwise dominated by recreational and general-purpose utility models.
The nameplate remained in production through the 2018 model year. Polaris later stated that Brutus was discontinued as of January 2019, and post-sales support continued through its dealer network afterward. Because there was no documented revival after discontinuation, Brutus is best treated as a single continuous production run from 2013 through 2018.
