The Story of the RZR Pro R 4

The four-seat RZR Pro R 4 was introduced for the 2022 model year as part of Polaris’s all-new high-performance RZR Pro R family. Polaris positioned it as the longer, family-capable version of the new flagship wide-open side-by-side, aimed at desert and dune riders who wanted maximum performance without giving up two extra seats. The nameplate arrived alongside the two-seat RZR Pro R and was part of Polaris’s broader move to redefine the top end of its RZR lineup with a new platform and a fresh emphasis on stability, chassis strength, and long-travel off-road control.

From its introduction, the RZR Pro R 4 has been focused on the premium performance segment rather than trail utility or entry-level recreation. It represented a major step for the RZR brand because Polaris used the Pro R launch to mark a new generation of large-displacement, naturally aspirated performance UTV engineering and to create a distinct model family above the more compact RZR and RZR Pro XP offerings. The four-seat configuration expanded that formula into a true high-speed four-passenger desert machine, making it one of the most prominent family-oriented performance side-by-sides in the Polaris catalog.

The model has remained in continuous production since its debut, with ongoing model-year updates and trim changes rather than a break in the nameplate itself. For WhipPotion purposes, the RZR Pro R 4 should be treated as a current, single-run model that began with the 2022 model year and continues today.
