MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the Roadmaster Limited

The Roadmaster Limited nameplate was introduced for the 2021 model year as a new premium touring variant in Indian Motorcycle’s Roadmaster family. It joined the lineup as a more upscale, feature-rich counterpart to the standard Roadmaster, aimed at riders who wanted long-distance comfort and high-end touring equipment in a factory-built package. Indian’s 2021 lineup announcement positioned the Limited alongside the Roadmaster Dark Horse, marking the first time the Limited trim appeared as a distinct model designation rather than as an aftermarket or dealer package.

From its introduction, the Roadmaster Limited has been part of Indian’s large-frame touring range and has remained centered on the brand’s traditional American touring formula: full fairings, integrated luggage, a broad rider/passenger focus, and a strong emphasis on long-haul comfort and convenience. Over time, the model has continued to evolve with the rest of the Roadmaster family as Indian updated its touring line with new electronics, lighting, seating, and accessory options.

As of the latest official Indian Motorcycle lineup, the Roadmaster Limited remains an active current model, so there is no confirmed final model year. Because the nameplate has not been discontinued and revived, it is treated as a single continuous production run beginning in 2021.
