MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the Fury

Honda introduced this nameplate as a 2010 model, unveiling it at the 2009 New York International Motorcycle Show as a radically styled production motorcycle aimed at delivering true chopper attitude in an accessible factory package. The model was developed under the VT1300CX designation and stood out immediately for its long, low silhouette, stretched proportions, and deliberately custom-inspired appearance, making it one of the most distinctive cruisers Honda had ever put into production.

From the start, the bike was positioned as more than just a styling exercise. Honda paired the dramatic chassis and bodywork with the company’s familiar V-twin cruiser formula, combining everyday usability with the visual cues of a hand-built custom. That balance helped it gain attention well beyond traditional cruiser buyers and gave it a cult following among riders who wanted a factory-built machine with an unmistakably modified look.

The nameplate has remained part of Honda’s motorcycle lineup in later model years, with the model still listed by Honda in 2025. Over time, its core identity has stayed consistent: a production chopper-style cruiser that translated custom-bike aesthetics into a reliable showroom motorcycle rather than a one-off showpiece. Its significance lies in how boldly it departed from Honda’s more conventional cruiser designs and how closely it brought the custom chopper look into mainstream production.
