MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the Silver Wing

This Honda large-scooter nameplate was introduced in 2001, initially as a 400 cc and 600 cc twin-cylinder family developed with European buyers in mind. It was positioned as a premium maxi-scooter, emphasizing weather protection, underseat storage, and long-distance comfort rather than sporty minimalism. Honda expanded the line into other markets during the mid-2000s, and the model received periodic updates in styling and equipment while keeping the same core identity. In 2009, Honda replaced the original Silver Wing naming with the Silver Wing GT for its updated 400 cc and 600 cc versions, so the original Silver Wing nameplate ended with the 2008 model year. The model is remembered as one of Honda’s best-known big scooters of the 2000s, bridging practical urban commuting and relaxed touring use.
