This Harley-Davidson factory-custom cruiser traces its roots to the Wide Glide theme that first appeared in 1980, but the exact FXDWG nameplate arrived later as the Dyna-era Wide Glide. Harley-Davidson added the Wide Glide to the Dyna family in 1993, giving the long-running chopper-styled formula a modern chassis and keeping the model’s stretched front-end, drag-bar attitude, and stripped-down custom look central to its identity. The nameplate then became one of the recognizable Dyna variations through the 1990s and 2000s, standing apart as the line’s most visibly old-school custom. After a hiatus, Harley-Davidson brought the Wide Glide back for 2010 as a renewed Dyna model, continuing its factory-custom character until the Dyna platform was retired in 2017. Because the nameplate appears in separate production periods, it is best treated as a revived model rather than a single uninterrupted run.
