This was Harley-Davidson’s sport-oriented Dyna variant, introduced for the 2000 model year as the Super Glide Sport. It built on the Dyna chassis but was positioned as a more handling-focused take on the family’s stripped-down cruiser formula, with firmer suspension tuning and chassis/braking upgrades that made it stand apart from the standard Super Glide and the more relaxed Dyna models of the period. Harley-Davidson’s own Dyna history places the model’s debut in 2000, alongside the broader expansion of the Dyna line around the turn of the millennium.
The model stayed in the lineup through the first half of the 2000s and is documented in Harley-Davidson parts literature for 2000 through 2005. In later years it was also offered in fuel-injected form, reflecting the gradual transition of the Dyna family during that era. The model was then discontinued after the 2005 model year, ending its original run without a later revival.
Among Harley-Davidson enthusiasts, this machine is often remembered as one of the most appealing early Twin Cam Dynas because it combined a relatively clean, factory-custom look with a more aggressive chassis setup than the typical big twin cruiser. That balance of everyday Dyna character and sharper road manners gave it a distinct identity within the lineup.
