MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the CVO Road Glide Ultra

This nameplate first appeared for the 2011 model year as a CVO version of Harley-Davidson’s Road Glide Ultra touring motorcycle. It was built as a premium, factory-custom long-distance model, pairing the Road Glide’s frame-mounted fairing with the Custom Vehicle Operations treatment reserved for the brand’s most exclusive offerings. Harley-Davidson’s own parts literature shows the model in two separate production runs, 2011 and then again for 2015–2016, indicating a gap in between rather than one continuous run. The later revival kept the same basic formula but arrived as part of the Project RUSHMORE era touring lineup, with updated touring features and custom detailing. After 2016, the nameplate was discontinued and did not continue into the later CVO Road Glide family, which evolved into different CVO touring models.
