Aprilia’s RSV 1000 was the second major chapter in the brand’s liter-class sportbike story, following the RSV Mille that put Noale on the map in 1998. Aprilia introduced the RSV 1000 for the 2003 model year as a sharper evolution of its flagship V-twin superbike, keeping the model focused on track-bred handling, Italian styling, and a close connection to Aprilia’s racing identity. The bike was offered in several performance-oriented versions over its life, including the RSV 1000 R and higher-spec Factory editions, which helped establish the model as one of the most respected European twins of its era. For many enthusiasts, the RSV 1000 represents the final and most developed form of Aprilia’s classic Rotax-powered superbike formula. Aprilia continued the RSV 1000 line through the 2008 model year, after which the company moved into a new era with the RSV4 family for 2009. The RSV 1000 is remembered as a significant bridge between the original RSV Mille and the later V4 superbikes, and as one of Aprilia’s defining roadgoing performance motorcycles.
