Aprilia’s Tuono V4 is the brand’s liter-class hypernaked derived from its V4 superbike family, and it became a separate nameplate in 2011 when Aprilia replaced the older twin-cylinder Tuono with a new V4-powered model. That launch marked the arrival of a very different kind of Tuono: still built around the RSV4’s racing hardware and character, but stripped into a road-focused naked bike with upright ergonomics and a heavier emphasis on real-world street use. From the start, the Tuono V4 quickly earned a reputation as one of Aprilia’s most extreme and accomplished road bikes.
Over the years, the model evolved rather than being reinvented under a new name. Early versions carried the original Tuono V4 identity, while later updates moved the bike into 1100cc form and expanded the electronics and chassis sophistication. Aprilia then added Factory versions as the more premium expression of the line, separating the standard Tuono V4 from the higher-spec variants without changing the core nameplate. The current Tuono V4 continues that same concept: a sharply styled, V4-powered naked motorcycle positioned at the top end of Aprilia’s street lineup.
The nameplate has remained in continuous production since its debut, and it is strongly associated with Aprilia’s racing image, Italian engineering, and the idea of turning superbike performance into a road-going naked machine with genuine enthusiast credibility.
