Introduced for the 1995 model year, this Yamaha nameplate was built around a compact sport-utility ATV formula that blended trail-friendly manners with real work capability. Early versions were best known as a 4x4 machine, giving Yamaha a smaller, more agile alternative to its larger utility ATVs while still targeting riders who wanted confident off-road traction and everyday versatility. Over time, the lineup evolved to include 2WD and sport-oriented versions, but the underlying identity remained the same: a nimble, mid-size ATV positioned between pure sport quads and heavier utility rigs.
The nameplate became a familiar sight in Yamaha’s ATV range through the late 1990s and 2000s, and it developed a reputation as a durable, easy-to-live-with machine with broad appeal among trail riders, property owners, and enthusiasts who wanted something lighter and less bulky than full-size utility models.
