Over time, it remained closely associated with relaxed interstate touring, shaft-drive convenience, and a traditional large-displacement touring format that appealed to riders who wanted an established, proven platform instead of an all-new design each season. The Royal Star Venture remained in production through the 2013 model year, after which Yamaha moved on from this generation and later introduced the unrelated Star Venture in 2017 as a new flagship touring model.
