MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the Legend 750

This model was introduced at the end of the 1990s as a simpler, more affordable roadster in the Hinckley-era triple family. It shared its basic architecture with the contemporary Thunderbird-based machines, but stripped away much of the chrome and touring-style embellishment in favor of a cleaner, more purposeful retro look. That positioning gave it a distinct role in the lineup: an accessible three-cylinder motorcycle aimed at riders who wanted classic styling and the character of the brand’s inline-triple engine without the higher price or more elaborate equipment of its sibling models. It first appeared for the 1999 model year and remained in production through 2001. In the used-bike world it has become notable as one of the more straightforward and original-feeling late-1990s British triples, with a cult following among riders who appreciate its mix of low-key styling, everyday usability, and connection to the company’s revived modern-classic era.
