The Story of the QuadMaster 500

This utility ATV appeared as Suzuki’s new large automatic four-wheel-drive model for the 2000 model year, marking the company’s push into the big-bore recreational/utility segment. Suzuki’s own 2000 annual report identifies the LT-A500F QuadMaster as a newly introduced model, and period parts and fitment references consistently place the nameplate in the 2000–2001 model-year window. In Suzuki’s ATV history material, the later Vinson LT-A500F is shown as the successor era for the same 500cc class, indicating that the QuadMaster badge was a short-lived early branding used before Suzuki shifted to the Vinson name. The model sat between Suzuki’s earlier utility quads and the later KingQuad family, offering riders a practical 4x4 platform with automatic operation at a time when that combination was becoming more desirable for farm, trail, and general-purpose use. Enthusiast interest today comes largely from its place in Suzuki’s ATV timeline: it represents the transitional period when Suzuki was refining its large-utility ATV formula ahead of the better-known Vinson and KingQuad generations.
