KTM’s 1190 Adventure was introduced for the 2013 model year as the brand’s step into a newer generation of large-capacity travel-enduro machines. It built on KTM’s long-running Adventure family, but moved the nameplate forward with a more road-oriented level of refinement and a stronger emphasis on electronics and touring versatility than the earlier 990-era bikes. KTM’s own product history describes the 1190 Adventure’s 2013 arrival as the start of a new era for the segment. The range also included the more off-road-focused 1190 Adventure R, which broadened the lineup’s appeal to riders who wanted the same platform in a more rugged configuration. Production appears to have run through the 2016 model year, after which KTM shifted to the 1090 Adventure for 2017 rather than continuing the 1190 nameplate. That makes the 1190 Adventure a single, continuous production-run model with no known gap-and-revival history.
