Honda introduced this limited-production V4 superbike in 1994 as a homologation machine for Superbike racing, with the road model sold under a 1995-season launch program. It followed the earlier factory-racing RVF lineage and was developed with a race-first mindset rather than as a conventional street bike. The model carried Honda’s then-new V4 development work into production, including fuel injection, a compact engine layout, and extensive use of lightweight materials. In Honda’s history, it is remembered as the third-generation V4 superbike and as one of the most focused and collectible Japanese homologation specials of the 1990s.
