Introduced for the 2017 model year, this was Harley-Davidson’s darker, more stripped-back take on the classic Road King formula. It arrived as a factory bagger with a blacked-out finish, mini-ape handlebars, and stretched saddlebags, aiming for a more custom, aggressive look than the standard touring version. Its debut also coincided with Harley-Davidson’s then-new Milwaukee-Eight V-twin era, which became a key part of the model’s identity. Over time, the bike remained positioned as a style-focused touring machine that blended long-distance comfort with a simpler, less dressed-up silhouette than the full fairing models in the lineup. The nameplate appears to have run continuously from 2017 through the 2025 model year, after which it no longer appeared in the manufacturer’s 2026 touring lineup.
