Harley-Davidson’s CVO Electra Glide line began in 2004, when the first factory Custom Vehicle Operations version of the Electra Glide appeared as the FLHTCSE Screamin’ Eagle Electra Glide. It marked the start of Harley-Davidson’s ultra-premium touring approach, taking the long-established Electra Glide platform and adding special paint, exclusive trim, and other CVO-specific touches aimed at buyers looking for a more distinctive factory-built tourer. In the mid-2000s, the family evolved into the CVO Electra Glide Ultra Classic, which carried the Electra Glide name into the CVO catalog and remained in production through the 2013 model year. Across that run, the model represented Harley-Davidson’s most personalized take on the classic batwing-fairing touring formula, positioned above the regular Electra Glide variants and sold in limited numbers. For 2014, Harley-Davidson shifted its CVO touring flagship to the CVO Limited, ending the CVO Electra Glide nameplate after the 2013 model year.
