This Harley-Davidson Softail Slim S nameplate was introduced for the 2016 model year as a higher-spec, factory-custom take on the Slim. It kept the Slim’s stripped-down, bobber-inspired look and blacked-out stance, but added the brand’s Screamin’ Eagle Twin Cam 110B engine and a few distinguishing trim cues that positioned it above the standard Slim in Harley-Davidson’s Softail lineup. The model was carried over unchanged into the 2017 model year, which was the final year for this exact nameplate. 2017 Harley-Davidson documentation still lists FLSS among the Softail model codes, and Harley-Davidson marketplace listings identify surviving examples as 2016 and 2017 machines. The FLSS was part of the last generation of Twin Cam Softails before the 2018 Softail redesign, after which Harley-Davidson replaced the old Softail family with a new frame and a revised model naming structure. As a result, the Softail Slim S is best understood as a short-run, late-Twin-Cam-era special variant rather than a long-lived trim line.
