The Story of the Dyna Super Glide T-Sport

The Dyna Super Glide T-Sport was Harley-Davidson’s factory sport-touring take on the Dyna platform, introduced for the 2001 model year and built through 2003. It used the Dyna Super Glide Sport as its base, then added touring equipment from the factory rather than relying on aftermarket accessories. That formula gave the model a distinctive place in Harley-Davidson’s lineup: more long-distance friendly than a standard Dyna, but still lighter and more performance-oriented than the larger touring motorcycles.

The T-Sport is closely associated with the early-2000s Dyna family, when Harley-Davidson was experimenting with different combinations of chassis, suspension, and equipment within the same basic Big Twin architecture. Its identifying features included a detachable fork-mounted fairing and detachable saddlebags, making it one of the more versatile Dyna variants of its era. Enthusiasts often remember it as an uncommon but practical factory custom that bridged the gap between cruiser styling and real sport-touring intent.

Production ended after the 2003 model year, making the T-Sport a relatively short-lived nameplate. Because of that short run, surviving examples have become especially notable among Dyna fans and riders looking for a factory-built Harley with touring capability and a more understated profile than the better-known touring models.
