MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the CVO Softail Deuce 2

This factory-custom Softail was the second-year evolution of Harley-Davidson’s early CVO Deuce program. The first Screamin’ Eagle Deuce appeared for 2003, and the updated FXSTDSE2 designation was used for the 2004 model year. It was part of the brand’s low-volume Custom Vehicle Operations lineup, built to give the standard Deuce a more premium, highly finished look with CVO-specific paint, trim, and hardware. As a Softail-based cruiser, it kept the Deuce’s long, low custom styling while pushing the factory-custom theme further than the regular production version. For collectors and Harley enthusiasts, it sits in the early history of the CVO program, before Harley-Davidson later standardized the CVO naming convention across its premium models.
