The Story of the CVO Pan America

This limited-edition adventure-touring motorcycle was introduced for the 2024 model year as the premium, factory-accessorized version of Harley-Davidson’s Pan America platform. It brought the Custom Vehicle Operations treatment to the brand’s adventure line for the first time, combining the rugged, long-distance intent of the standard Pan America with higher-spec finishes, exclusive paint, and a more fully equipped specification aimed at riders who wanted a showroom-ready flagship rather than a base platform to customize.

The model was positioned as the top tier of the adventure family and was built around the same liquid-cooled Revolution Max 1250 architecture that underpinned the rest of the Pan America range. In historical terms, its significance lies less in mechanical novelty than in what it represented for the brand: a rare factory performance-luxury interpretation of an adventure motorcycle, using the CVO badge traditionally associated with premium touring and cruiser models. That made it a notable expansion of Harley-Davidson’s CVO strategy into a newer, more global segment of the market.

For 2025, the motorcycle continued with similar positioning and remained Harley-Davidson’s upscale adventure offering. By the 2026 model year, it no longer appeared in the company’s current U.S. lineup pages, indicating that its production run ended after 2025. The nameplate’s history therefore appears to consist of a single, relatively short continuous production period spanning the 2024 and 2025 model years. As a result, it stands out as a brief but distinctive chapter in Harley-Davidson’s modern adventure-bike era, remembered as the brand’s first premium CVO take on the Pan America concept.
