This Touring-model Electra Glide Classic nameplate appeared in the mid-1990s as Harley-Davidson’s fuel-injected version of the batwing-faired touring bike, pairing the familiar FLHTC platform with electronic fuel injection. It gave riders a more modern powertrain option while keeping the traditional full-dress touring layout that made the Electra Glide one of Harley-Davidson’s core long-distance models. For 1998, the model was also offered in a 95th Anniversary Edition, marked with commemorative badging and special anniversary trim. The nameplate continued through the 2006 model year, after which Harley-Davidson reorganized its Touring lineup and the FLHTCI designation disappeared from the catalog. Enthusiasts tend to view it as a transitional-era Harley touring bike: classic styling and character on the outside, with the brand’s move toward fuel injection and later Touring-platform changes reflected underneath.
