BMW’s 750xi was the all-wheel-drive V8 flagship variant of the seventh-generation 7 Series sold in the North American market. BMW introduced xDrive versions of the 750i and 750Li for model year 2010, expanding the range of its flagship sedan with a traction-focused, performance-oriented alternative to the rear-wheel-drive cars. The 750xi belonged to the F01 generation, which brought a major redesign to the 7 Series and continued BMW’s tradition of positioning the 750 badge as the upper V8 choice below the V12-powered 760 models. Its arrival marked the first time BMW’s flagship sedan was offered with xDrive in the United States, reflecting the brand’s push to combine luxury with year-round usability and stronger all-weather traction. For later model years, BMW updated the car’s naming and technical package, but it remained the same underlying F01-era 7 Series all-wheel-drive flagship.
In BMW history terms, the 750xi is best understood as a trim-and-drivetrain derivative rather than a standalone model line. It represented the xDrive-equipped version of the 750i during the F01/F02 production run, and it did not continue as a separate nameplate beyond that era.
