BMW’s 645i nameplate belongs to the revived 6 Series grand tourer that returned after the original E24 6 Series had been out of production for many years. The modern 6 Series launched in 2003 as a 2004 model-year coupe, with the convertible following shortly after. In BMW’s own contemporary materials, the car was commonly marketed as the 645Ci in many markets, but it is the same first-generation 6 Series V8 model family.
