DBS

The DBS nameplate first appeared on Aston Martin’s fastback grand tourer introduced in 1967 as a more modern successor to the DB6. The original DBS began with Aston Martin’s six-cylinder powertrains and was later joined by the V8-powered DBS V8, with production ending in 1972. After a long hiatus, Aston Martin revived the DBS in 2007 for a new V12 flagship based on the DB9-era platform, with production of the coupe and Volante ending in 2012. The name returned again in 2018 as the DBS Superleggera, a high-end super GT positioned at the top of the brand’s series-production range. That modern chapter concluded with the DBS 770 Ultimate, introduced in 2023 as the final edition of the current DBS generation. Across all eras, DBS has served as Aston Martin’s halo grand tourer: rare, aspirational, and closely associated with the brand’s most powerful and dramatic front-engined cars.
