The Tuono V4 1100 RR is Aprilia’s road-focused V4 super-naked, introduced in 2015 as part of the brand’s updated Tuono 1100 family. Aprilia launched the Tuono 1100 Factory and RR together in April 2015, making the RR the more accessible of the two V4 Tuono versions while still carrying the RSV4-derived character that defines the line. It quickly became known as a high-performance naked bike that blended superbike hardware, everyday usability, and Aprilia’s racing identity in a format meant for both road riding and track use.
For the 2019 and 2020 model years, Aprilia continued to market the Tuono V4 1100 RR as a distinct trim alongside the more premium Factory model, with periodic updates to electronics, styling, and equipment while keeping the same basic concept intact. In Aprilia’s range communications for 2020, the RR was still listed explicitly as part of the Tuono V4 1100 lineup, confirming that the nameplate remained in active production through that model year.
After that, Aprilia simplified the family naming for 2021, promoting the model range as Tuono V4 and Tuono V4 Factory rather than continuing the RR badge. As a result, the Tuono V4 1100 RR is best understood as a single continuous production run from 2015 through 2020, representing the first modern 1100cc Tuono V4 road model and one of the most important chapters in Aprilia’s naked-bike history.
