Aprilia’s Sportcity was introduced in 2004 as the brand’s urban scooter line, aimed at riders who wanted a practical city machine with a more athletic, contemporary look than traditional commuter scooters. It became part of Aprilia’s successful scooter lineup alongside models such as the Atlantic and helped strengthen the brand’s presence in the mainstream commuter and maxi-scooter market after Aprilia became part of the Piaggio Group. The original Sportcity was offered in several engine sizes over its life, including larger-displacement versions that gave the scooter a versatile role between daily transport and sportier urban use. In 2008, Aprilia updated the family and split it into the smaller Sportcity One and the larger Sportcity Cube, which effectively ended the original Sportcity nameplate. Because the Sportcity did not return as the same marketed model name after that transition, this is treated as a single production run from 2004 through 2008.
