The Story of the Rocket 3 Storm R/GT

Triumph introduced the Rocket 3 Storm R and GT as 2025 model-year versions of its flagship muscle roadster, unveiling the updated pair in March 2024. The Storm name marked a fresh styling and performance update for the Rocket 3 range, building on the modern Rocket 3 launched in 2019 and continuing the line’s focus on massive displacement, shaft-drive character, and distinctive three-cylinder appeal. Triumph positioned the Storm variants as the sharper, darker evolution of the model, with revised details, upgraded tuning, and an even more aggressive visual theme.

The Rocket 3 family itself traces its roots back to the original Rocket III of the 2000s, but the Storm R and GT are part of the current Rocket 3 era rather than a separate revival. The R is the more upright muscle roadster version, while the GT leans toward touring comfort and a relaxed riding position. Together they keep the Rocket 3 nameplate in Triumph’s lineup as a halo model aimed at riders who want extreme character, big-engine presence, and premium finish in a street-focused package.

As of the current model range, the Rocket 3 Storm remains in production and has not been announced as discontinued.
