This 450cc off-road machine was introduced for the 2010 model year as a trail-oriented counterpart to the company’s open-class motocrosser. It carried over the basic competition-derived aluminum twin-spar chassis and fuel-injected four-stroke single-cylinder engine concept, but added enduro-friendly equipment aimed at serious trail use, including electric starting, lighting, a more practical instrument cluster, and other features expected of a street-legal or woods-focused dual-sport style motorcycle in markets where it was offered.
The nameplate represented a revival of the brand’s familiar RMX identity, which had previously been associated with two-stroke off-road models. In this modern form, it became the company’s four-stroke 450cc trail flagship and was positioned as a rugged, high-performance alternative for riders who wanted racing hardware with added convenience for real-world off-road riding. Over the years it followed the technical development of the related motocross model, borrowing engine and chassis updates while retaining its enduro character.
Factory documentation shows the model remained in the lineup through the 2019 model year. After that, it no longer appeared in the current global product range, making its 2010–2019 run the clearest continuous production period for the nameplate.
