Introduced for the 2017 model year, this street sport motorcycle marked Suzuki’s second GSX-S entry after the GSX-S1000 and was positioned as a middleweight naked bike with direct GSX-R750-derived engineering. It was first shown in late 2016 for overseas markets and then launched in March 2017 as the GSX-S series’ 750cc option. The model used a 749cc inline-four and emphasized responsive road-going performance, aggressive styling, and everyday usability rather than full supersport bodywork. Suzuki continued to update and market it through at least the 2021 and 2022 model years, including ABS-equipped versions and market-specific variants. By 2024, Suzuki was referring to it as the previous model in the category, indicating that it had been superseded by newer street-bike entries rather than carrying forward as an ongoing nameplate.
