Trail Boss

This ATV nameplate was introduced in 1985 and became one of the earliest Polaris four-wheelers. In its first years, it was part of the company’s pioneering move into the ATV market and was offered alongside other early utility and recreational machines. Over time, the name was applied to a long-running series of trail-focused models that evolved through several displacement and chassis updates, including early 250-class machines in the late 1980s and, later, larger 325/330-era versions in the 2000s. Across its life, it was positioned as a practical, approachable off-road ATV with an emphasis on trail use and general recreational riding rather than high-performance competition. Official Polaris parts and service references show the nameplate continuing through model year 2013, after which it was phased out. The result is a historically important early ATV line that helped establish the brand’s presence in the sport and utility segment.
