This nameplate was introduced for the 2022 model year as part of Polaris’ all-new wide-open RZR family. It arrived alongside the RZR Pro R and represented the brand’s high-performance, wide-track side-by-side built around a 74-inch stance and a turbocharged twin-cylinder powertrain. The model slotted below the flagship Pro R and above the narrower trail-focused RZR variants, giving Polaris a distinct desert- and open-terrain-oriented machine in its lineup.
The Turbo R nameplate continued through the 2024 model year with two-seat and four-seat versions, and it was positioned as the balanced member of the RZR performance range: more agile and accessible than the Pro R, but still aimed at fast, open terrain rather than tight trail use. For 2025, Polaris renamed the model RZR Pro S to align it with the rest of the Pro series, but that was a naming change rather than a separate historical production run for this nameplate. Because of that 2025 rename, the Turbo R badge itself is best treated as a 2022–2024 production nameplate.
