Polaris introduced this six-passenger side-by-side for the 2018 model year as the flagship crew version of its Ranger utility lineup, positioning it as the larger companion to the standard Ranger XP 1000. For 2019, Polaris described the vehicle as completely reinvented, marking a major update rather than a restart of the nameplate. Since then, the model has remained part of the Ranger family and has appeared in a range of work-focused and premium variants, including open-cab and factory-enclosed NorthStar editions as well as special-purpose trims for hunting, mud, and regional markets. It is best understood as a continuously evolving crew-cab Ranger platform that has stayed in production since its 2018 debut.
