Prairie 700

This full-size sport-utility ATV arrived for the 2004 model year as Kawasaki’s largest Prairie at the time, positioned above the earlier 650-class machine. It carried forward the Prairie formula of hard-working utility hardware blended with a more aggressive, enthusiast-oriented character, and it marked an important step in Kawasaki’s ATV lineup before the later Brute Force flagship era. Kawasaki’s official ATV history identifies the 700 4x4 as a 2005-era highlight and notes that the subsequent Brute Force 750 drew on lessons from both the 650 and 700 machines. Factory parts and accessory catalogs show model-year coverage from 2004 through 2006, confirming a single continuous production run. The machine was offered in standard 4x4 form, with special-edition and appearance-package variants appearing during the run, including a Team Green edition tied to Kawasaki’s GNCC utility-racing success. In period, it was viewed as a big-bore utility ATV with enough capability for work and trail riding, while still appealing to riders who wanted more power and presence than the smaller Prairie models. Production ended after the 2006 model year, and the nameplate was not carried forward as a continuing series.
