Kawasaki introduced this sport-utility ATV nameplate for the 2005 model year as its new flagship large-displacement machine. It arrived as the successor to Kawasaki’s Prairie 650/700 era and was positioned as the brand’s toughest, most capable all-around ATV, combining a big V-twin, independent rear suspension and aggressive styling for riders who wanted a machine that could work hard and still deliver a sporty ride. Early versions were marketed as the 750 4x4i, emphasizing the model’s on-demand four-wheel-drive capability and its place at the top of Kawasaki’s ATV range.
For 2008, the line received a major update with fuel injection and revisions to the chassis, suspension and seating, keeping it competitive as the flagship sport-utility ATV. Electric power steering arrived later, broadening the range into a more premium, easier-to-handle family of trims. Over time, the nameplate evolved through several refreshes and special editions, but it remained Kawasaki’s core full-size utility-sport ATV rather than being replaced by a completely different machine.
The model is still in production and continues to represent Kawasaki’s highest-profile ATV offering. In recent years it has been updated with modern instrumentation, LED lighting and other convenience features while retaining the rugged, go-anywhere character that defined the original launch.
