It was part of the Chief family and covered the standard Chief/Springfield designation used on that platform’s entry-level and related variants. The model reflects Indian’s effort to bring back its historic cruiser identity with a modernized chassis and classic styling cues drawn from the company’s heritage. Production continued through the Gilroy period and ended when the company went bankrupt in 2003, closing that first modern-era run.
