Indian revived the Scout name during its Gilroy-era production run, and this model family was offered in Standard, Deluxe, and Springfield forms from 1999 through 2003. It sat below the larger Chief line as the lighter, more approachable cruiser in the brand’s late-1990s and early-2000s lineup. The Gilroy Scout carried Indian’s modernized V-twin hardware of the period along with the company’s classic styling cues, but it remained part of the short-lived revival that ended when Indian ceased production in 2003. This entry should be understood as the 1999–2003 Scout family only, not the original prewar Scout or the later Polaris-era reboot.
