The Chief Deluxe was a one-year variant in Indian Motorcycle’s King’s Mountain-era Chief family, introduced for the 2009 model year. It sat within the revived Chief lineup as a more upscale, traditional take on the big American cruiser, drawing on Indian’s long-standing design language while sharing the modernized underpinnings of that generation. Indian’s own recall documentation identifies the Chief Deluxe as a 2009 model, and contemporary lineup coverage shows the Deluxe was not carried forward into the following model year. The nameplate belongs to the broader Chief lineage, which traces back to Indian’s original Chief family of the 1920s and later inspired multiple modern revivals, but this specific Deluxe badge was a short-lived modern return rather than a long-running trim.
