MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the NSS250 (Reflex)

Honda introduced this 250cc maxi-scooter as the Forza in Japan for the 2000 model year, and it reached North America as the Reflex for 2001. It was conceived as a roomy, step-through commuter with more touring comfort and weather protection than a conventional scooter, while still aiming for easy urban use and relaxed highway capability. Honda’s own historical material describes the 2004 redesign as a second-generation Forza, marking a major update in the model’s life with a fresh body, revised packaging, and broader market appeal.

In the North American market, the Reflex name covered the same basic family through the mid-2000s, with standard and ABS-equipped versions offered over the run. The model stood out as one of Honda’s better-known large scooters of its era: practical, enclosed, and comfortable, but still styled with a more upscale, sporty character than many utilitarian scooters. It became especially notable among riders who wanted a capable everyday machine with generous storage, a low step-through layout, and the smooth, easygoing feel that defined Honda’s big-scooter approach at the time.

The Reflex nameplate ended after the 2007 model year in North America, closing out this first and only production period for the badge.
