Honda’s Rincon nameplate arrived for the 2003 model year as the brand’s premium, large-displacement rec/utility ATV. It debuted as the TRX650FA and quickly established itself as Honda’s comfort-oriented flagship, pairing a longitudinally mounted single-cylinder layout with a fully automatic transmission and full-time utility focus. That original version ran through the mid-2000s, after which Honda updated the machine into the TRX680-era Rincon for 2006, extending the same core formula with revised engineering and continuing refinement rather than a full reinvention.
Over its life, the Rincon became known as Honda’s most upscale and most road-biased-feeling ATV, emphasizing smoothness, traction, and long-distance trail comfort over hard-edged sport performance. It sat at the top of Honda’s ATV lineup for years and was aimed at riders who wanted a capable four-wheeler for trail riding, property work, and all-day recreation without giving up refinement. Honda sold the model through the 2023 model year, after which it was renamed for 2024 as the FourTrax Rubicon 4x4 Automatic. The Rincon name itself therefore covers one continuous production run from 2003 through 2023, with no separate revival period.
