The Story of the Elite 110

This small Honda scooter revived the Elite name in the North American market after a long gap, but in this form it was a single-model-year machine. For 2010, it appeared as a modern urban step-through aimed at riders who wanted a compact, automatic scooter for commuting and short city trips rather than a full-size touring machine. It carried the familiar Elite badge from Honda’s earlier scooter era, yet it was a much more contemporary design than the classic U.S. Elite models of the 1980s and 1990s.

The 2010 return was notable because it brought the Elite family back to Honda’s American scooter lineup after the older Elite range had disappeared years earlier. This version was positioned as an approachable, practical scooter with a fresh body style, under-seat storage, and the easygoing character that made Honda’s small scooters popular with new riders and urban commuters. In period coverage, it was presented as a city-friendly machine and a revival of a once-familiar Honda scooter nameplate.

As far as the U.S. market record shows, this Elite 110 did not become a long-running multi-year nameplate in the same form. Instead, it stands out as a brief, one-year revival that used the Elite name for a modern 110cc scooter and then disappeared again from Honda’s North American lineup.
