MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the CBR300R

Introduced for the 2014 model year, this small-displacement supersport entry was created as a global roadbike with Fireblade-inspired styling and a more accessible character than Honda’s larger CBR machines. Honda presented it in late 2013 and said production would begin in Thailand, positioning it as a world-market model aimed at riders wanting an affordable step into fully faired sport riding. The bike arrived as part of Honda’s broader 2014 motorcycle refresh and filled the role of an approachable single-cylinder sport model in the brand’s lineup.

Unlike some short-lived nameplates, this one has remained in continuous production and later evolved into a long-running staple in Honda’s entry-level sport range. Over time, it has been refreshed rather than reinvented, with updates focused on styling, equipment, and market-specific details while keeping the basic formula intact: a lightweight faired sport motorcycle intended for new riders, commuters, and riders who want simple, everyday usability with a supersport look. Honda’s current model-year listings still show it in the lineup, so there is no verified final model year yet.
