Honda introduced this liter-class Fireblade in 2004 as the next stage of its long-running supersport lineage, following the CBR900RR/CBR929RR family. The new model brought a fresh approach to Honda’s flagship sportbike, combining compact packaging with technology influenced by the company’s RC211V MotoGP program. Over time, it became the core modern Fireblade for Honda, with a major full model change arriving in 2017 that shifted the bike toward a more focused, electronics-rich interpretation of the formula. Honda then refined the machine again for 2019, emphasizing circuit performance and rider control. The nameplate ended after the 2019 model year, when Honda launched the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade as the next generation of its flagship superbike.
